Cocktails for a Cause
This is an opportunity to spend a relaxing evening catching up with dear friends, making new friends, enjoying a cocktail and some great food and learning how we can make a positive impact in our very own Denver community.
Guest Speaker: Raquel Medrano, Communications & Outreach Coordinator from Street’s Hope
Please RSVP to Kathi White at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, September 19, 2016
For every attendee, Philoptochos will make a monetary donation to Street’s Hope. Your participation counts!
Street’s Hope was founded in 2004 as a ministry outreach project to women working in the sex industry along Colfax Avenue in Denver. They grew into a faith-based non-profit with a mission to assist women leaving the commercial sex industry.
Their Residential Program provides on-site services to residents: 1 year of housing in a sober transitional-living community, clothing, food, and hygiene banks; individual trauma therapy and daily group therapy; intensive case management and vocational/educational support; mentoring relationships, life skills and optional spiritual support.
Our Philoptochos Chapter began supporting Street’s Hope in 2015 and we are committed to increasing our support and hands-on involvement to help make a difference in the lives of these women.
